Hi, I'm pretty new to these boards. I read the posts for a couple of days before deciding to join.

I only recently got into Christ. I have so much to learn...I'm currently praying over everything thats happening to me. But I have a couple issues that are really pressing on my heart.

I need guidance as to wether I should've stayed with my ex-boyfriend. I've been praying over this constantly over the past few days, but I feel no real response from HIM. See, we are both 16, and were together for 11 months. We do have strong feelings for each other. We even talked about marriage alot. We just broke up today, and I would really like confirmation as to wether this was the right thing to do or not. We want to be with each other so bad, but every circumstance around us is preventing us from doing so. So, we decided that our breaking up was for the best, even though it hurts immensely.

since I am so new to Christianity, I really do have a hard time deciphering wether my thoughts are from myself or from HIM. How do I know wether its HIS voice speaking to me? I would really like help with that as well. Not just prayers, but I would also appreciate it if you guys gave me some advice. I really REALLY want to be one of HIS flock. I do read the Word, and like i said, I pray constantly.

Thank you all so much...God Bless!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Ecky,

Welcome to the List.

You and your boyfriend are doing the right thing, breaking up for a while..

You are pretty young to be making any serious decisions about marriage. Take it from one who has been there, many years ago I'll grant you, for I am now 71 and my wife and I will have been married 50 years in 2 1/2 weeks.

I waited for her to graduate from high school before we married, but we wrote to each other for about two years before we ever met. If what you are feeling for your boyfriend is for real, and what he is feeling for you is real, then it will last another two or three years, even through a separation. It will last even with you and him dating others, if it is real, and it will only get better for the wait. For that will be the real test of whether it's true, or just puppy love because he is available and close.

If after the two of you date others for the next two or three years, then you will know if it is real, and if it is real, then you have a very good chance of it lasting for all the rest of your lives. but if either one of you finds someone more interesting during that time while dating others, then what you have now was not real, and would not have lasted if you had gone on and married.

Believe me when I tell you that the wait is worth it.

Wow!!! That is one heck of a time to be married. Congrats to ya.
You just made me look at it from a whole new perspective...Thank you. I'm going to talk to him about that now.

I don't know about the next few years thing, considering the world is about to be thrown into pandemonium, maybe it won't matter anymore. I'm gonna use this time to get closer to God.

So what do I do about the second part of my post?

My dear Ecky,

The part of not knowing if you are hearing the voice of Jesus or are hearing the voice of something else. That is a problem that every one of has, did have, still have.

We can test the spirit to see if it is from the Lord or not. The Lord can be speaking to you and right in the middle Satan can try to but in. Jesus said to test the Spirit. See Raymond's Prophecy #34 for a method of testing which the Lord Jesus gave to Raymond for testing which spirit is speaking to him.

But even so, A new born lamb does not yet know the Shepherd's voice, for it takes time to learn that sound. In time, and with testing of the Spirit, you will learn to recognize the Lord's voice. Be patient, but don't drag your feet either, for the time is very short, But even so you know that Jesus is watching over you, taking care of you, and will go out of His way to help you.

So many ask how does God communicate with man?

God communicates with man through his spirit. God, who is Spirit created man and woman in His image and His likeness. Man can only communicate with His Creator in spirit. Man is more of a spirit being then he is flesh and blood. There is a spirit in man. God who is Spirit, communicates with him in this realm.

Job 32:8
8 But it is the spirit [a] in a man,
the breath of the Almighty, that gives him understanding
John 4:24
24God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth."

There are additional means God uses to communicate with mankind.

Prophets
Angels
The Holy Spirit
His son, Jesus Christ
The Holy Scriptures
Prophecy
Preaching
How does God speak to us today.

He speaks to us through the scriptures but He also communicates with the inner man through the voice of the Holy Spirit.

Revelation 3:22
22He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches."
Matthew 4:4

4Jesus answered, "It is written: 'Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.'[a]

How do we develop our spirit to become mature.

Reading and meditating on God's word
Praying
Worshipping and spending time with God
Listening
Obeying

How can we effectively communicate with God?
Make your petition known
Listen attentively, quietly and carefully.
Keep your mind on the Lord, free of conflicting thoughts.
Don't be discouraged
Expect a response from him.
His dialogue will come through the inner man or spirit.
Have a pencil and paper ready to write down what you hear Him saying
Record everything so when it comes to pass you will know you heard His voice. It will build your confidence.
When he speaks to your spirit, thank Him for talking to you and for the ability of hearing His voice.
How can you acquire a desire to read the Bible?

We acquire an appetite for the Word of God when we seek Him earnestly in prayer.

The Logos is the word of God.
The Rhema is a Holy Spirit inspired Word from the Logos that brings life, power and faith to perform and fulfill it.

A Rhema is a specific, personal word from the Logos. When the Holy Spirit quickens God's Word, it brings about a change of attitude and perception in us and alters the situation for which we have been praying.

God also speaks to man through visions and dreams.

When the Holy Spirit brings a rhema word to us, it quickens us and gives us faith to believe God

Hello friend,

As I am 23, I am also young, but the LORD has been graciously with me my whole life.

I have the same trouble, who is God, and who is demonic, and the third one, which voice is me?

Above all, pray. This requires 2 things: 1. speaking to God as you would to any person, and 2. listening for an answer.

I would say, read that Bible from beginning to end. It takes awhile, but then again you get deeper in God that way. Put yourself in every character, you are Abraham, you are Moses, you are Jesus, you are the Apostle John. You will see then that the LORD spaeks the same to you as He does to everyone else (just the circumstances and names change.)

Read the prophecies given by Raymond or Thomas S. Gibson. THey are a ramp up to the Bible, for I notice the prophecies are easier to digest, but they still point back to the KJV Bible.

Have Communion every day. You can find how to do this by a link at Raymond's or Jack Barr's website.

Listen to that still, small voice inside you. That is God. He is there.

I have learned that you have to build up your communications tower to receive that radio signal. You only build it up when you do the things we suggested, and obey the commands of Jesus in the Bible.

Nothing is impossible for GOd, and He somehow knows how to speak to you.

And as well, find some Christian people in your life who are witnesses to the LORD. They will help you by example, for we are a flock of sheep, not a commonwealth of independent countries.

If there is anything else, you may always ask, for there are no stupid questions but the ones you did not ask.

God Bless friend,
BRT
Pray for st_joel.

is it absolutely necessary to get baptized in water in order to be saved?

I know u have to repent of your sins and let christ completely into your life. I've gotten mixed messages from different people concerning baptism...
