TOPIC: A friend needs prayers

A friend needs prayers 6 years, 10 months ago #1445

I have a friend in England, and he is Christian. He is under strong spiritual influence by spirits, and he HATES it. They put him through substance abuse. He wants out, and he has been PLEADING with God to either kill him in mercy or to get rid of these things. On top of that, he is bewildered about America going to be under attack in two years.

What can you say to someone like this? I have a deep love for my friend in England, and all I can do is pray.
Pray for st_joel.

On one hand, I have heard that the root word for drugs or what we would call substance abuse in the bible, I’m not sure of the word right now but there is a passage or more then one that talks about drugs. I heard that the part of the word used in bible from the original Greek or Hebrew means or is the same as the word for witchcraft. From this some have drawn the connection that doing drugs is a form of witchcraft or divination even if that is not your intention.

So drugs are apart of either one way to open the door for demons to attack and possess you and/or a way on purpose witches use drugs to tap into the demonic realm. So there is probably a connection between drug use and witchcraft that many don’t understand or realize. But because we may not understand what’s happening we aren’t fighting it the way we should be. People don’t realize this and that is I’m sure just how Satan wants it.

One the other hand, with addictions I feel we may need to take responsibility for our actions. Do demons put us through substance abuse or is it really more that when we want out from under what we started and failing to be strong against the temptations of what we originally brought into our lives because of the bad choices we made in the past. We say demons are responsible.

Addictions are the most difficult kind of sin to break. Anything can become addiction porn, food, shopping, drugs, sex, lying etc. We all definitely need support and the prayers of others. Drugs are there but we don’t have to use them, we don’t have to open that door in the first place. Temptation is not sin, but something we all struggle with. Excusing our actions by blaming demons may not be the way to go in every situation. Sometimes because we were and/or are still the problem we can be saved and forgiven but still have to go through the consequences of our mistakes.

Pray for your friend and I will too, but also pray that the strongholds whatever they are be broken. If a person takes drugs until their mind is gone or part of it anyway. The Lord can and will deliver him but the enemy will use anything he can to tempt us he knows our weaknesses and if you have opened the door unknowingly to Satan with drugs in ways more then just temptation you may have a long hard battle ahead of you. Pray and fast for your friend, that will break the stronghold of the attack from demons or from the addiction it’s self.

Give your friend support let him know that one day he could be used in a wonderful way by the Lord to minister to others like him. He could be delivered immediately or after a long battle. But let him know that one day he could be in total control and be ministering to others.

God Bless,

Hi MerMer Rey,

You are right on about drugs. And I post here the verses along with the Strong's Dictionary meaning. You may see that all three are tied to the same meaning with #5331 and #5333 words being taken from #5332 which has a meaning of Drugs. So Sorcerers and Witchcraft in these verses all refer to the use of Drugs in an evil way.

There is nothing in the Bible which condemns the use of medicines for the healing of sickness. The only condemnation is the use of drugs for non healing purposes.
