Is it necessary to always pray with your mouth and on your knees? Is it OK to pray while walking around, going about with business? Is it OK to pray inwardly instead of audibly? These questions have been burning inside for a bit, and I've been shy to ask

Thanks.

You can pray anywhere at anytime anyway you want... be sincere.

that helps. I always felt like it wasn't proper to pray if i wasn't on my knees and opening my mouth. I've never really been taught to pray...

Ecky,

Ive had the same questions at one time or another. Just be real when your talking/ praying to God. HE reads the Heart not the lips.

The neat thing about this is HE wants you to talk to HIM. Its not like HE picks and chooses what day HEll listen to you. HE is always listening ... always.

Just be REAL. Hope that helps. It took me years to figure that out.

Hi Ecky,

Oyster_777 is telling you true.

I know where you are coming from. I was raised in a religion in which they taught that prayer was repeating a fixed set of words over and over again, usually said while also kneeling, and either having your hands clasp together, or else while fingering a set of beads, or even by reading some printed set of words they called prayer, out of a book. To them, that is all they know. Bless their souls, for they have never been told any different, yet even some of those will speak with Jesus and not even realize that they were really praying at those times, for it did not fit the ritual.

Praying, real prayer, in only speaking your heart to Jesus Christ. And for that, you can be standing, walking, running, kneeling, laying, jumping, doing summersaults even. For the Lord is looking at your heart.

You do not have to speak out loud, a silent prayer is just as effective, or even more effective, because you are speaking from your heart.

You are the Bride, and Jesus is the Groom, why would you, or anyone else think that you could only speak to the one that you are engaged to, that you are going to marry one day, by only saying certain words, or by getting into a specified position. None of us even does that with an acquaintance, and certainly not with a friend. for we just speak what is on our mind. And as I said above, when you speak to Jesus as the friend, and lover that He is, (as well as the Lord God) speaking out to him what is in your heart, then you are truly praying. There can be no better prayers than that. For that is real.

Ecky, continue to ask any question that you wish, and all of us will try to give you answers.

Question?? Where can you get the "REAL ONE" of What??

This thread is speaking of praying, and how to pray.

Are you referring to the post by Oliver 777 which says
I've had the same questions at one time or another. Just be real when your talking/ praying to God. HE reads the Heart not the lips.

Are you just trying to be facetious??

If you are really serious with that question, ask it again and one of us will explain what being Real with God is all about!!
