Is it necessary to always pray with your mouth and on your knees? Is it OK to pray while walking around, going about with business? Is it OK to pray inwardly instead of audibly? These questions have been burning inside for a bit, and I've been shy to ask
Thanks.
Hi Ecky,
Oyster_777 is telling you true.
I know where you are coming from. I was raised in a religion in which they taught that prayer was repeating a fixed set of words over and over again, usually said while also kneeling, and either having your hands clasp together, or else while fingering a set of beads, or even by reading some printed set of words they called prayer, out of a book. To them, that is all they know. Bless their souls, for they have never been told any different, yet even some of those will speak with Jesus and not even realize that they were really praying at those times, for it did not fit the ritual.
Praying, real prayer, in only speaking your heart to Jesus Christ. And for that, you can be standing, walking, running, kneeling, laying, jumping, doing summersaults even. For the Lord is looking at your heart.
You do not have to speak out loud, a silent prayer is just as effective, or even more effective, because you are speaking from your heart.
You are the Bride, and Jesus is the Groom, why would you, or anyone else think that you could only speak to the one that you are engaged to, that you are going to marry one day, by only saying certain words, or by getting into a specified position. None of us even does that with an acquaintance, and certainly not with a friend. for we just speak what is on our mind. And as I said above, when you speak to Jesus as the friend, and lover that He is, (as well as the Lord God) speaking out to him what is in your heart, then you are truly praying. There can be no better prayers than that. For that is real.
Ecky, continue to ask any question that you wish, and all of us will try to give you answers.
