My Russian prof is going into the hospital for surgery tomorrow to have some cancer removed. After that, she begins radiation therapy. I talked to her after class today and she asked for prayer between 9:30 am and 10:30 am CST, as that's when she'll be in surgery. I'm asking everyone for prayer for a successful surgery, and at that, a miraculous removal of that cancer.

Also, I do not believe she is saved, so I'm asking for prayer for her salvation, as well as that of her husband and family.

Thanx everyone,

Jon

It shouldn't matter what a person has been through, everyone needs prayers. God is FORGIVING...so no matter what a person has sinned in their life, if they want to stop and turn to Jesus, then they'll be forgiven. The last time I checked there was one unforgivable sin, and that is blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. Only God can read a man's heart...no man can. God knows all truth. I don't think it matters what the story is behind this woman's cancer...that doesn't mean you shouldn't pray for somebody.

Your teacher will be in my prayers.

Yours in Christ,
Stephanie

I need to post an update as to what's going on with this prof, and ask for some more prayer for her. I'm a little unclear on details, so there won't be many here.

She had surgery and I think some of this cancer was removed. Ever since the surgery, she has been receiving radiation therapy, and it is taking a toll on her. Her hair is gone now and I almost think that's messing with her psyche more than the radiation is messing with her body. (The whole deal about hair being a woman's covering really hit me hard during class yesterday.) I ask for prayer for the destruction/removal of this cancer in her, and that she can, miraculously, get her hair back through all this.

At the same time, I don't think she is saved. I also ask for prayers for her and her husband's salvation. I have no information as to where she is spiritually, or even what her background is. All I can say for sure is that she grew up in Latvia while it was a part of the Soviet Union.

Thanx,

Jon
