TOPIC: Witnessing to nonbelivers

Witnessing to nonbelivers 7 years, 1 month ago #660

I feel I have done a great disservice. I was hooked up with a non believer friend of a friend, and he had questions, and I answered them, but he was not impressed with the answer.

Did I do something wrong? Do I have the wrong expectations?

He asked about why it is man's fault for sin if God can see into the future? I told him, out of Love is why the devil was given free will, and with that free will, the devil sinned and coersed Adam and Eve to sin.

He also asked why didnt God make the world perfect. I told him He did.

The Spirit was with me, still is with me. Am I wrong in thinking that he should have jumped up when he heard the answer and praised God?

I think he met the answer, and he did not understand.

I am lifting him up in prayer, whatever that means. Definitely, God will loosen some strings in him so he can learn to follow Y'wa.

Anyone have any tips on witnessing? Just be true to God?

I feel bad that he did not understand, perhaps I do not explain things well. I tried to let God take over and answer for me. Perhaps it will take time.

God, I am sorry.

Greetings child of Christ!

Be cheerful and joyful that our Lord has utilized you in spreading his word! You have been an instrument in planting the seed! Do not worry as it does no good deed, but pray as you said and trust in our God and His Son and His Holy Spirit! Jesus is working in this instance.

Stay focused on Him by continued study in His Word and by prayer! All will go according to His plan!

May God richly bless you this day!
Stay focused on our Lord Jesus! In his love - Roland

Thank you.

What makes you think I'm a child? I'm in my 20's!

Rawhide is absolutely right. Sometimes we are the sower of seeds, sometimes we are the caretakers.

But I have to say that he sounds like philosophically minded person. Perhaps you should tailor your approach to that. (i.e., read up on religious philosophy and use that - in conjunction with the Bible).

Also, before you witness to him again, try to change his worldview some. He sounds like he's focused on the negative and material aspects of things.

After talking with someone, I often feel I may not have said the right things. And later I think of things I should have said. Even though we might feel that way, it doesn't mean we didn’t say the very thing that will end up leading them to the truth. It often takes time. A talk you have with someone today years later could end up leading them in the right direction.

Have you seen the show on TBN The Way of the Master? Kirk Cameron is one of the hosts. The show is about witnessing. They go out and talk to people in the street and video the conversations. The way they witness is the way Christ did it. Simply put they use the Ten Commandments.

I am kind of dealing with this right now as well. I bought Raymond’s prophecy books. I gave them to my cousin and her husband to read. That was about six weeks ago. They said it didn’t make any sense to them (I think they just looked at the drawings) My niece says they’re just humoring you, they just opened one so they could say they looked at it. They tell me they’re going to read the books or look them over more carefully when they aren’t so busy. But I can tell they just aren’t taking it seriously. I wanted them to read the books not just because they are my cousins but also because they are my Pastors.

When I first read the prophecies something in my heart said, this is for real. I am finding out that everyone I talk to just laughs at it or doesn’t want to know (like it frightens them)

Pray for me that I say the right things that the Holy Spirit guilds me and reveals the truth to my Pastor.

When you mentioned TBN, my first thought was 'I don't deal with swine.' That just came out of my inside.

We're in the same boat together. I'll pray for you to say the right thing at the right time in the right manner of God, and you can pray for me on that as well.

I have also had a few trouble with people accepting the writings from Raymond. It's really sad, like when an elderly person refuses to take their medicine. Even my friends are lukewarm about it, probably because it scares them. THey need to grow a backbone.

God Bless you in all your endeavors! The wheat is ripe, sharpen the sickle!
