If any of you is having trouble understanding the procession of promise to Law to faith and grace as Paul speaks of often, let me make it easy for you, for God is a God of simple things.
It is a space shuttle.
Indeed, as when we were built as space shuttles were given the promise of space flight. However, many of us left the run way to areas not intended for a space shuttle, to their doom. So the launch structure was built to focus us on our goal and keep us straight. The law, however, also kept us from achieiving the goal of space flight. At the proper time, Christ was crucified for us, died for us, and we received the necessary hydrogen-nitrogen fuel to reach our goal. The Structure cleared away, and we blasted off into the promise. Do not be tempted to think or say that the Law was bad, for I am tempted with this often by Satan attacking my lazy flesh, but the Law brought more people to the goal than would have been if the law had not been enacted. And now, as God surely IS, the better things have come, and we must advance. Christ also said the Law would not pass away until all things are fulfilled. Indeed, this is true too, for without a launch pad and structure, how can other space shuttles achieve space flight? A sneek-peak of the promise of Christ to Abraham came first, then Moses with the Law, then Jesus who makes all things possible, then Paul to tell us about and of God's grace and Love. For there are still many space shuttles, that is, many of the Jews, who prefer the safety of the platform to their created purpose, a walk with Christ. As in the Age of Grace, it is not possible to walk in the Law and refuse Christ. But God's Chosen People are a special case scenario.
Not to say the Law is dirty, for that is where the analogy ends. But the law is fossil fuels, and the grace of Christ on His Cross is fusion power. May God not allow people to be led astray by this.

In Galatians, Paul was writing that the space shuttles there wanted to leave space and return to their platforms because they felt it had more structure.
