When is a Pastor not a Pastor?


A pastor is a man which the Holy Lord God has placed over a number of people which form one of the flocks of the Lord God. The Pastor is also called by the Lord as The Shepherd of the flock.

We see in the Bible that a Shepherd cares for his flock day and night. The Shepherd must always be there to feed and water his flock, to protect them from animals which would tear them apart. The size of the Shepherd's flock was never so large that he could not care for any sheep personally which was hurting, or lost. The Shepherd cares so much for his flock that the Shepherd will deny himself comforts, putting up with hardships just to care for his flock. The flock was never so large that the Shepherd could not reach in minutes any of his sheep which came under attack. Witness David who saved a lamb out of the mouth of both a bear and a lion.



When the flock became too large for the one Shepherd to handle as he should, then the Shepherd would divide the flock and make two flocks, while he cared for the one part, he would then turn the second part of the flock over to another man to care for. Whenever possible, the second Shepherd would be one of his family members and so would care for the flock as a Shepherd should. It is only the Lord God Jesus Christ who can be the Shepherd to a flock of infinite size. Man cannot.

There is a warning in the bible against the hireling, the hired Shepherd which does not care one bit for the flock, but only cares for the pay check that he gets. Can this hireling, which cares nothing for the sheep, who will let any animal attack and kill the sheep, because he will not fight for the sheep, Can this hireling really be called a Shepherd? I believe not. For a Shepherd Cares, and the Hireling does not care. The hireling would not have saved the lamb out of the mouth of the bear or the lion, for the hireling would not have placed themselves in such a position where they themselves could be hurt, so the lamb would have been lost.

So this brings us back to the Pastor, who is given by God to be the Shepherd of a flock of Sheep. There are some Pastors who are true Shepherds of their flock. They watch over their flocks day and night, they are available to their flocks at any time of the day or night. They are on call to speak with any troubled and hurting member of their flock. They give of their time to visit in the hospital, to attend the services of marriage, or funeral. To visit his flock in their homes. These men are truly led of God.

Many of these men who are the true Shepherds, have, when their church flock became too large for them to continue handling, have divided their church flock, forming two flocks out of the one. Keeping one flock for himself to Shepherd and giving the other flock to another Shepherd to care for. Neither was a hireling. But each now had their Own flock to care for. And each of those flocks would grow.

So what of the Pastor of a mega size church? I know that from personal experience that the sheep cannot reach the Pastor of that church. One church that I know, That church will seat about 1000 people when full. The Lord sent me to speak with the pastor of that church on a matter the Lord wanted. I know that as a fellow minister even, that I caught that church's Pastor as he was entering the church one day, and because I was a fellow minister, he spoke with me for about 3 minutes, just long enough for me to tell him that the Lord had sent me to speak to him. He then told me to make an appointment with his secretary to speak with him. The appointment was made for two weeks later. And after speaking with him (on the matter that the Lord had sent me to speak to him about,) for about 20 minutes, he turned me over to a sub pastor. What I see is that it becomes an impossibility for any member of the congregation, the Sheep of the flock, to be able to be ministered to by the Pastor. Is he really a Shepherd of a flock? I do not believe that he is, Nor do I believe that anyone who runs any of the mega churches is a Shepherd. What they have become is a business man, they are running a corporation, they hire dozens of people to do the work, They do not go near the flock, they count the profits that comes in, and brag on how big their church is, while they will not inconvenience themselves, they are too busy running the business to visit the sheep in the hospitals, too busy to visit the sheep in their homes, too busy to talk to the sheep, or to care for the sheep at all. After all they have all those hirelings under them.

Call on them and they will give you to another man, a hireling. You have one hireling who visits in the hospitals, another hireling to do this part of the job, and another hireling to do that part of the job. Depending on how large the Pastor's business is, he will have from 1 to 15 or more hirelings, and each of those hirelings may have their own hirelings.

That Pastor is no longer a Shepherd of the flock. He is really no longer a Pastor of a church, he has become the head of a corporation, and he runs his church just like any business. Oh those poor sheep, for the lambs are being torn apart out there, and he does not even know of it.

They do not want to split the flock. After all, as the head of the corporation, the larger the corporation becomes, the more money the Head of the Corporation (the Pastor) can earn.

The Pastor of these large mega churches say to themselves, "I AM the Pastor of this Church!", "I AM the Shepherd of this Flock!" but the Lord God says "NO!! You are NOT the Shepherd of this Flock!!! You are in Business for yourself, You are not taking care of MY Business."

They say that they do not have a mega church, that they only have 150 -250 people in their church, but if they have to have assistant pastors then they are too big. I know that they will deny This. But if you want to know if you have a Shepherd as a pastor in your church, or if he is just a hireling looking for a paycheck, just ask him if he would continue the work he is doing in your church if the church stopped paying him anything. If their answer is yes, then you have a Shepherd. If their answer is no, or well I have to feed my family, or any answer except "Yes" then you do not have a Shepherd, you have a Hireling, one who does not care for the flock.

The Shepherd will trust the Lord God to provide for him. And like the Apostle Paul, many of them work at another job for their living, and they preach, and care for the flock out of the love of the flock, and the Love of Jesus Christ. They would do so even if the flock in that church could not pay them anything, they would still take care of the flock, for they are True Shepherds, True Pastors.

God bless you my brother. I havent even considered what you said. But as i was reading it , its more than clear that you are correct , and doubtless its from the Lord.

The church i went to , i went to 3 times. I remember talking with the pastor only once of those three times. I think there were like 5 pastors there. 4 that i know for sure were pastors. This was far from a big church , maybe 200 people or so. The pastor even the first time i was there was preaching on stage . He was talking about people who would only start comeing to church when it was close to time for them to start electing members of the counsel ( i think he was talking about ).

what got me was that he said he would go up to them and just love on them , ask them how they were doing , not meaning it in his heart , only doing it for show to them. Telling us clearly he wasnt the least bit conserned. But that he would do that just because thats the only time they come around , so he would do it to make them feel guilty. Or else to try and keep his job was clear. Now i didnt think much of it at the time.

But the second time i went , i met him and cought him as he was leaving the main preaching room. And he gave me that same greeting , which was far from whole heartedly. Even as he talked with me , it was as if he was reading cue cards. Stateing something as if its his job to ask , not even really conserned.

I told him how God had renamed me joel , and how He has given me visions and dreams , and i asked him if there was any who could interpret them. And he said i would have to make an apointment. That day at church i wept in the parking lot , for other reasons. And went home to that demonic house.

That wendsday my car broke down and i missed church. that thursday i was told to leave my house. And so i did , i packed and left. My mom let me stay with her , that sunday i went to church and met a man who holds meetings in his house. He invited me , and i took it before the Lord. I was led to go. I went home and went to sleep before i went , and i had a dream which led me to believe that those in the meeting were not of God , that there hearts were not after God at all.

In the meeting , i seen that clearly. They were talking about this book or that book , but i wanted to show them with the bible the truth of whats to come. They wernt interseted. Not even curious.

I was planning to go back , but the Lord spoke to me in a dream. Ive heard the Lord angry before , but this was beyond that , He was FURIOUS!! He was talking about the Church of Man , and how that He was so angry with it. He told me not to go back to that church.

Heres the thing , in that church they were speaking the Truth, even those things that were on Gods heart , to minister to those in the streets , to un harden your hearts to recieve Gods correction. With all i thought doubltess this is a church of God. But as God has shown me before , Hes Greater than us , He can see. He sees the Hearts.

Let me share this dream , in which i had with some of the members at that church in it.

I remember bags of ashes. The ashes of devils i think. I was moveing them or something. They wernt in the trash , or even sealed up , the bags were open. When i tryed to move the bags i breathed some of it in. I left the bags and went to sit down with some people at that church. I felt satan comeing against me , so i started rebukeing him in the name of Jesus. They looked at me strange , and did not even bother to pray for me , but they did their own things , there rituals the things they always do.

I started to feel the warfare pass. I could feel God. I meditated on Jesus withen in me , but the young one ( the one whos hand i shook and felt great fear and a grievious feeling withen me ) he kept trying to distract me. He kept messing with me , but all i could feel was the Love of God , i kept trying to consentrate on God. The young one said something about me , then i heard God tell him that i was full of the Holy Ghost.

They went on doing some traditional things and told me to join in. I started to when i noticed i had a bald spot on my head. Someone had shaved some of my hair off with clippers as a joke while i was focusing on God . I was Furious!!!!!! How evil i thought . Then they jumpted on me , trying to hold me down , i fought them off , even ready to fist fight them , but that part of the dream ended.

then i seen something about the andy milinacous show and some other thigns that i couldnt remember when i awoke.

Its not just the big churches , but how much more the big churches!!? I was watching Joel osteen once , i was looking at his new stadiem. This thing was huge!!! like a football stadiem. It was beautyfull! So many people its unreal. How could one man learn all of there names? Should not a pastor know his sheep by name?

When i went to church i just needed somone to talk to. Someone to pour my heart out to. But there was noone.

I think some love there pastors character so they will let some false doctrine slide , because hes so charasmatic , so pursuasive. Because he makes them laugh. But it takes God to show us the hearts of men , for we cant see that deep. This is awesome what the Lord is doing , giveing us Good Counsel and Advise. Showing us the things of the Church of man , and what not to do. while guideing our hearts to Him.
