Concerning the Sabbath & God's Love 7 years, 3 months ago #319

This is a very good explanation of God’s Love (Agape) for us and also describes very well what Rev Jack Barr has already put into words and explained. Further confirmation of Rev Jack Barr’s understanding of the Law of the Land and the Law and Spirit of the Love of God Almighty, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit.

With the Love of Christ Jesus,

Tristan

Subject: Love Is The Fulfillment Of The Law

2/17/05

Love Is The Fulfillment Of
The
Law

The Mosaic Law came from Yahweh to Moses, to be given specifically to
the
House of Yisrael, not the rest of the world, who did not receive the
Old
Covenant. Throughout the Word of God, we read that there were many
different
covenants made between Yahweh and mankind, and different sets of laws
for
different peoples. For example, Yahweh made a covenant with Adam, with
Noah,
with Abraham, etc., etc. Before the time of Moses, there was no written
Law/Torah, and yet, the Spirit of the Lord still led people into the
Spirit
of Truth. The Torah/Law of God has evolved throughout time, for HE has
specific purposes for specific peoples, and has been continually
revealing
His true Nature and Law in increasing measures and degrees to us. The
ONLY
commandments that are still valid, are the ones which have been written
within the New Testament. However, we do not pick out a commandment out
of a
Scripture and then try to obey it, but rather, we receive His Law of
Love
into our heart on a continual basis, (Rom.2:15; Heb.8:10-13; Rom.5:5)
and
then, out of that which flows from the heart (Prov.4:23; Matt.12:34,35;
John
7:38; 2Thess.3:5), we will speak, and walk, and act, in accordance to
the
specific leading and guidance of the Spirit.

We are not to follow certain laws/commandments to the very letter of
It,
which kills, but the very Spirit of It, which is imparted into our
hearts
and gives us true Life. (2 Cor. 3:6)

For example, the letter of the Old Law says to circumcise males,
cutting off
the foreskins. But under the New Covenant, it is not necessary, for the
true
circumcision is of the heart, not of the male sexual organ. (Rom. 2:29
;
Gal. 6:15) If we obey the Letter of the Mosaic Law/Torah, then you must
wear
phylacteries on your forehead and arms, and stone witches and all other
rebels, and do sacrifices, and put lambs blood on doorposts during
Passover,
and give the firstfruits and wave offerings of everything you have and
receive from others, etc., etc. Do you see what I am saying? The Spirit
of
the Law is what truly matters. For example, the letter of the Law says
to
wear phylacteries, but through the Spirit, the Word is imparted and
written
upon our hearts, rather than the flesh. Rather than giving firstfruits
and
tithes of everything, we simply surrender everything we have to Him,
spiritually, not physically. Under the Old, there were tabernacles and
temples,....in the New,....we ARE the Tabernacle and the Temple of God,
for
He dwells within us. Under the Old, the sacrificial system and Feasts
were
merely types and foreshadows which pointed to the true Substance, who
is
Christ, and He became our sacrifice, once and for all. Likewise, the
Feasts
and the sabbaths all point to HIM. He IS our Sabbath. He IS our Rest.
For in
Him, we cease from our own futile self efforts to please Yahweh, and
His
Ruach HaKodesh(Holy Spirit) flows through us, and does the true work of
Righeousness, by "faith working through perfect Love." (Gal.5:6)

(Galatians 3:23-29) "But before faith came, we were kept under guard by
the
Law, kept for the faith which would afterward be revealed. Therefore
the Law
was our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by
faith.
But after faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor. For you are
all
sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you were
baptised
into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek; there
is
neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are
all
one in Christ Jesus. And if you are Christ's, then you are Abraham's
seed,
and heirs according to the promise."

We receive His agape/unconditional Love, ...and then, out of the
Anointing
of the Spirit of God within us, and through "faith working through
(this
perfect) Love", by His sanctifying power of holiness, we are anointed
and
enabled to follow His commandments and laws which are still valid for
today,
not the ones which were merely types and foreshadows of the true
Substance.
(Col. 2:16,17 ; Rom. 13:8-10; Matt.22:37-40 ; John 13:34 ; Gal. 5:18 )
The
Old Law was weak through the flesh, for nobody could obey it totally,
except
Christ. Those who preach the return to the whole Mosaic Law are trying
to
put "a yoke of bondage" on people. (Acts 15:10)

(Gal. 5:18) "But if you are led by the Spirit, you are NOT under the
((Mosaic))Law."

It is the Spirit of the Law, not the Letter of It, that we obey. (Gal.
5:18
;
2 Cor. 3:6, etc.)

If we abide in His perfect Love, out of the abundance of our heart, we
are
enabled to walk and live in the Spirit, and we will not sin against God
or
His people. We will not lie, nor steal, nor curse, nor worship false
gods,
nor commit adultry or fornication, nor murder, etc., etc., for this
Agape/Love is self-less and kind, doing no harm, and pleases the Father
in
all things.

(Galatians 5:14) "For ALL of the Law is fulfilled in one word, even in
this:, "You shall love your neighbor as yourself."

(1 Cor. 13:4-8a) "Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy;
love
does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not act rudely, does not
seek
its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity,
but
rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all
things, endures all things. Love never fails..."

(Col. 2:16,17) "So let no one judge you in food or in drink ((laws of
kosher
eating/drinking)), or regarding a festival or a new moon or sabbaths
((laws
of Feasts and sabbaths)), which are a SHADOW ((and type/symbol)) of
things
to come, but the SUBSTANCE is of Christ."

Do want want a mere shadow and type which points to SomeOne, or do we
want
the true SUBSTANCE, which is HIM?

Colossians 2:16,17, specifically says that anything under the Law,
whether
it be the commandments of what to eat/drink, the keeping of the holy
festivals/feasts, and yes, even the SABBATHS, are ONLY SHADOWS which
point
to the true Substance, which is Mashiach(Christ). HE is our (sabbath)
Rest,
[Matt.11:28; Heb.4:9-11] and as we abide in Him, ceasing from the
futile
works of the carnal nature, and are open and receptive to the Anointing
of
the Spirit, who flows through us as vessels, we are thus abiding in the
true
Rest-ful state. For we are no longer trying to please Father Yahweh
through
dead works, which is futile, due to our own righteousness being as
"filthy
rags",....and are allowing the Ruach HaKodesh(Holy Spirit) to express
Yahweh's will and Kingdom through us, through anointing the thoughts of
our
minds, the words of our mouths, the works of our hands, and the steps
of our
feet.

(Philippians 2:13) "For it is God who works in you both to will(desire)
and
to do(ability) according to His good pleasure."

(Philippians 1:6) "Being confident of this very thing, that He who has
begun
a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ."

(Hebrews 13:20,21) "Now may the God of peace who brought up our Lord
Jesus
from the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of
the
everlasting covenant, make you complete in every good work to do His
will,
working in you what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus
Christ, to
whom be glory forever and ever. Amen."

God is sovereign, and is in control, even if we are unaware of it. In
Romans
8:26 and 27, we read that we truly do not know how to pray as we ought,
but
the Spirit prays through and for us, according to the Father's will.
This is
one example amongst many within the Word of God, that reveals to us
that it
is not the "I" who lives, but Christ within who is truly doing the work
of
Righteousness. (Gal. 2:20) When we think, we should allow the Mind of
Christ
to be expressed mentally. (Phil.2:5; 1 Cor.2:16b)
When we speak, allow the Spirit of our Father to speak through us.
(Matt.
10:19,20; Ex.4:12; Is. 51:16; Luke 21:15)
We are called and predestined to walk and to live in the Spirit
(Gal.5:25),
for it is in Him we live, move, and have our being.(Acts 17:28a)

(Romans 8:28-30) "And we know that all things work together for good to
those who love God, to those who are the called according to His
purpose.
For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the Image
of
His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover
whom
He predestined, these He also called, these He also justified; and whom
He
justified, these He also glorified."

In getting back to the main point and gist of this message, ...as we
abide
in perfect Love, we fulfill the Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ
Jesus.

(Galatians 5:6) "For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor
uncircumcision
avails anything, but faith working through (agape/unconditional) LOVE."

Yeshua said in John 13:34, "A new commandment I give to you, that you
love
one another; as I have loved you, that you also (agape) love one
another."
Of course, it really wasn't a "new" commandment, for the Old Testament
also
speaks of loving our neighbor as ourselves. I believe the context of
this,
is that this is the main commandment of the NEW Covenant, which is a
better
Covenant, having better promises(Heb.8:6), for the old one was made
obsolete. (Heb.8:13; Gal. 3:24,25)

(Matthew 22:37-40) "Jesus said to him, "You shall love the Lord your
God
with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind.' This is
the
first and great commandment. And the second is like it: 'You shall love
your
neighbor as yourself.' On these two commandments hang ALL the Law and
the
prophets."

(Romans 13:8-19) "Owe no one anything except to love one another, for
he who
loves another has fulfilled the law. For the commandments, 'You shall
not
commit adultry.' 'You shall not murder.' 'You shall not steal.' 'You
shall
not bear false witness.' 'You shall not covet.', and if there is any
other
commandment, are ALL summed up in this saying, namely, 'You shall love
your
neighbor as yourself.' Love does no harm to a neighbor; therefore love
is
the fulfillment of the Law."

(Galatians 5:14) "For ALL of the Law is fulfilled in one word, even in
this:, "You shall love your neighbor as yourself."

(1 Cor. 13:1-3) "Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels,
but
have not love, I have become as a sounding brass or a clanging cymbal.
And
though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and
all
knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove
mountains,
but have not love, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to
feed
the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it
profits me nothing."

Far too often, people put the emphasis on the notion that we must obey
His
commandments in order to prove our love to God, but this is backwards
theology. We must FIRST receive the perfect Love of God within our
hearts,
allowing Him to impart the Spirit of the Law of Life in Christ into our
innermost being,...and then,....out of the abundance of our heart, we
will
speak, and do, walking and living in the Spirit, fulfilling not the
pleasures of the flesh, and therefore, please the Father in ALL that we
do.

(1 John 4: 16b-19) "...God is love, and he who abides in love abides in
God,
and God in him. Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may
have
boldness in the day of judgement; because as He is, so are we in this
world.
There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear
involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.
We
love Him because He first loved us."

(Romans 8:35-39) "Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall
tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or
peril,
or sword? As it is written: 'For Your sake we are killed all day long;
We
are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.' Yet in all these things we
are
more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that
neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalties nor powers, nor
things
present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created
thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in
Christ
Jesus our Lord."

If we combine the Message of Galatians 5:6, with Matt. 22:37-40, and
John
13:34, we see that the true Law of the New Covenant is the Law of
(agape/unconditional) LOVE. Whenever we walk in faith, which worketh
through
His perfect love, we will not sin towards the Lord, nor towards our
fellow
man, for this perfect love is unconditional, self-less and kind.

In HIM we live, move, and have our being,

Jonathan
