TOPIC: Worship Songs

Worship Songs 6 years, 10 months ago #1279

I have been on a fast on worship songs ever since I found out that "What if Cartoons got saved?" was a very spiritually-dead song and also worldly. Smurfs lead into witchcraft and Satanism.

I was wondering what worship songs exist that God approves of?

Most of the songs on the radio, either Christian Spirit 105.3 or Warm 106.9 in my area, are hit or miss. I am going to make a list of spiritual revealing songs for me to listen to.

I know that classical music is very harmonious and spiritual. Rock music is satanic.

God talked to me using Britney Spears songs, where each major song she sang was a progression about the Russian nuclear attack on America.

God mentions Amy Grant's "Somewhere Down the Road" as being prophetic in Prophecy 1138.

Maybe music is something everyone will discuss.

I have never been into Christian music at all; I would like to though. More and more I have been meaning to listen to some. On Christian radio I listen to the talk, the teaching and discussions. I would assume though that there is a lot of very good Christian music out there.

I have always been a lover of Rock music all my life, mostly Hard Rock and Heavy Metal. When I was thirteen I was a member of the Kiss Army. And my absolute favorite from a very young age and still to this day is Elton John. I was into Queensrych, Alice Cooper, Motley Crue, Hanoi Rocks, AC DC...etc. As a child and even still I am very attracted to Glam Rock anything theatrical I must have about a thousand cd‘s that‘s not an exadgeration.

I grew up around church and around many very spiritually strong people. But I didn’t really personally do anything about it until about three years ago. I still like that kind of music, but the lyrics that were never very important to me, it was the music I listened to. The lyrics and message coming from or out of these bands in some cases is yes demonic.

In my work, at my job I can listen to headphones and I do a lot. But over the past three years when I listen to my old stuff, I have come under conviction. Very gentle conviction just a tap on my shoulder about wasting my time on it and the reality of how really stupid it is. And I get this feeling that I shouldn’t lower myself to this.

Also I noticed that after a little while, a kind of gradual depression would come over me. Then I would start thinking of things that would upset me, things from the past. For no reason my mind would call up things and I would start focusing on them. Like this little dark cloud was following me around for the rest of the day. So I gradually stopped listening to it.

Music was always a big part of my life. I don’t listen to music anymore and I do miss it. Well in the eighties I was a big fan of Stryper and if I listen to anything it’s my old Stryper cd’s or this really nice rosary cd I have that talks and sings the rosary, it’s really beautiful. I want to get a tape or cd of the bible so I can listen to that while I work. I haven’t felt that conviction or anything like that when I listen to Stryper or the rosary cd.

I don’t think there is any difference between Motley Crue or Brittany Spears though. Ones a wolf and ones a wolf in sheep's clothing. Motley Crue attracts people who like the apperance of evil, they know what they are getting. Brittany Spears attracts parents, kids who think she’s innocent and parents who would never let their ten year old listen to Motley Crue are buying Brittany Spears albums and taking their kids to her shows. And she is as demonic a role model as Motley Crue.

Marilyn Manson said in an article I read that scientology is satanism marketed differently, I hate to say that he is right about anything but I think he is right about that. How things are marketed is one of the ways the enemy works. I don’t think Rock Music is evil or anymore evil then any other kind of music has the potential to be. It’s not the music; it’s the heart and intention of the person (artist) who creates the music. The energy that they put into it or the fact that satan can use an artist and influence them and they are not aware of it consciously. Either way I know it’s not of God. But it’s not, not of God because the music is loud or fast. Rock Music the style in and of it‘s self is neutral.

Sorry this is so long, and probably not at all how you intended anyone to respond. But the topic being music, well it used to mean so much to me. I got carried away.

God bless

The LORD is so good. I learned today that there are a WHOLE bunch of worship songs I can listen to. I posted this thread during lunch, and on the drive back, I turned on the radio, and there were spiritual songs to listen to! And when I went into the store, no kidding, one song after another were all praising Jesus whether directly or indirectly. GOD IS SO GOOD!!!!!!

I have never been into Christian music at all; I would like to though.

MerMer Rae, you aren't missing much, but I know how you feel about wanting SOMETHING to rhythm to at work. I used to make fun of Christian music all the time in college, while I was drinking and being not-Christian while going to church. But toward the end I started listening to some of the stuff. I really liked the hymnals from the MainStream churches, they had the message and a nice tone, but they meant nothing. I must have sung about the Holy Ghost over a thousand times and it never stuck. And I had to wonder, if all these modern bands were really Christian, then why does their music sound like the world? and why do they dress and talk like the world? Some of it I have to wonder if it is even Christian whatsoever. You would not be able to tell, if not for the label.

Sorry this is so long

Bah, all of what you posted was very well-informing to me. And you are right about Britney Spears, I have to wonder about some of these parents who let their 14 year old girl dress like Britney. Now I am seeing Hillary Duff turning into yet another Britney, I wish it wasn't so. She didn't have to go down that road, and now she's just another worldly clone setting herself up for the fire.

Hey, don't forget Lindsay Lohan. She's the worst...she started out in Disney, then got into mainstream singing. Now she's out there with the likes of Paris Hilton, partying her life away. I see articles of her everywhere, how shes drinking and stuff. It's sad, isn't it?

Anyway, there are looottss of artists out there who have worship songs. I don't have personal favorites. I just turn on the radio to the Christian station and listen to them just for the sake of worship...

Good point...I guess its because they wanna promote their music to a wider audience, in hopes of getting them to worship God, too. They make the music sound like any other music to blend in with other types of music. Just what I think.

speaking of music , i was wondering in time past about kanye west. He has a song out called Jesus walks. And you hear him alot talking about God in his records.

I asked the Lord about this , about kanye west , and rappers and people who use God in there music , yet sing about ungodly things.

I had a dream a while after , and i saw kanye west. He was there with two girls ( hoes from the look of them ). He got in a cop car , it was his car.

I got the idea from it that He was a hypocrite. A While ago i asked God about it again , and He spoke of alot of people being hypocrites , and that i should beware of being one. He said that they will have there place in hell.
I asked if He wanted me to pray for him. He said yes

anyhow i thought i would mention this because it is about music.

if you want to hear a good song , listen to "pray for the fish" by randy travis. or "just another day in paradise " by phil phazer i think his name is. theres another one , sade " by your side" that song is good , i cried to it once when listening , its as if God is singing to you.
God bless

I always wondered about kanye west. He sings about God, but then he dresses like those other people in the hip-hop/rap world, and sometimes even uses vulgarities.

I'm also curious about Nas. He made a song called "Heaven". He raps about what a person would do, such as drug dealers, if heaven was right around the corner. It's an OK song, but his other songs are about the street life.

I hope the lord can give me insight as to what these people really are, too.

I'm sure you guys have heard about the controversey as to wether or not God can be put into rap.. I personally think not because the rap world is generally a very vile place. I mean, they rap about killing and hoes, and glorify themeselves by the way they dress and how much money they have. I dont think thats an appropriate atmosphere for the things of the Lord! Unless theres a great rapper out there who will put God in a beautiful light and listeners actually feel that power.

I am a huge fan of music. I use to also be a huge fan of Nas and other rap artists who had spiritual potential until one day I tried telling a Christian brother about this music and he replied to me "Adam, do you mix fresh water with salt water and drink it?". I guess what I am trying to say is that every song and every kind of music has a spirit. There are some great christian songs that trully uplift you spiritually, and the same goes for some of the secular songs out there.

I am not saying anybody rapping or singing outside of the christian music industry is bad but I guess maybe we should be careful with everything and give every type of music a test, even the so called mainstream christian song.

God bless you brothers and sisters.

How every post you have put up on ProphecyLink just drips with Sarcasm!! And all in one day too. You did some digging and much reading to have come up with all these since you joined ProphecyLink Today Dec. 28, 2005. for I see all of your postings when I went on line at 8:30 AM CT this morning. You joined as a member this morning and already you have 14 Sarcastic postings. This leads one to think that you have been here for some time!! And might even have been using another name here???

You have chosen to mock everyone and everything on ProphecyLink. Only a Satanic Spirit would come in here and instantly start poking fun at everything that was posted in all seriousness.

These are your postings, which I list here, giving under which thread that you posted it to. And I am posting it on every thread that you posted to this morning. So that when one reads one they will see all of your at once.

Hi All,

It was pointed out to me by another member on ProphecyLink, that they thought they has seen the same signature posted by Heart70946, that is the words "Poker Bonus New York Jobs".

I did not find those words used before on ProphecyLink when I did a search. But on looking closer to them it, turns out that "Poker Bonus New York Jobs" are two links to other web sites.

"Poker Bonus" links to a gambling site, and "New York Jobs" links to a site that will try to put a hidden data gathering link to their site.

Then I noted that Finger54758 also signed their posts with two links to Gambling sites.

Finger54758 had the same kind of mocking attitude that is displayed in the postings of Heart70946, like two peas in a pod.

It seems like Finger54758 has now come back as Heart70946. That also explains the super quick postings to so many threads in so short of time, (like within hours of joining)

You can see in postings above that mocking attitude by Finger, and Finger was sent a word of correction by Praise Jesus, above in this same Thread.

From this point on, in my book they are the same person.
