Hi,

I would like to ask about the manner of prayer demanded by the Lord, as per Ray's prophecy. There are many places where it says that we should pray for hours until totally exhausted. I am wondering how this can be done. I rarely manage to pray for longer than 5 minutes or so, it just seems that there is not enough to talk about.

My main questions are:

how detailed should prayer be about a particular topic? Does long prayer demand discussing the issue of concern carefully rather than just mentioning it and asking for guidance?
can prayers be repetitive, from day to day? if a topic has been exhaustively discussed yesterday and has not changed, should or can it be reiterated?

And if you have other advice, that would be great too. The Prophecy Book does not seem to contain information about the prayer mechanics.

Hi!

It is very good to discuss about praying, because it is one of the most important things, what God wants us to do.

There is good articles in Rev. Barr pages about praying, as you and many others have read, but i put some links here:

http://www.barr-family.com/godsword/pray.htm

http://www.barr-family.com/godsword/praying.htm

As i put these links here, i noticed that links above contain same articles (Pray Without Ceasing), is it ment to be so or is it bug?

Questions:

http://www.barr-family.com/godsword/qindex.htm

Comparison:

http://www.barr-family.com/godsword/comparison-1.htm

If somebody has more articles about praying, i would like to know.

I pray mostly at the time when i go sleep, i don´t know the time, how long i pray. Maybe 15-30 minutes, i know it is not enough.
Sometimes i have proplems concentrating to the prayer,
worldy things may come to my mind.
Waht will i do next day, or something what i have done today.
I have noticed, when i read Bible first, it is easier to concentrate on prayer.
One thing what i forgot to almost everyday to pray, is to thanks for the food.
We are living in western countries, time when we have plenty of food.
When we pray how thankful we are of food, God remembers it when bad time comes.

I put here what happened to me few years ago, when i was reading one of Ray´s prophecies (prophecy 1213).

http://prophecy.org/1213pro.htm

When i was reading in my mind, part where is written " ... to pray with their whole heart and soul at 3 o’clock, 7 o’clock, everyday."
When i was saying in my mind 3 o´clock, at same moment big cabinetclock in our living room sounded three times.
It was three o´clock, i got frightened, because i feeled that this can´t be coinincidence.
It was that time when i read Ray´s prohecies in order, from beginning, and i haven´t read that prohecy before.

Has anyone prayed as God wanted us to do in this prophecy?
To my shame, i don´t have at all for a long time.
Beginning when this happened to me, i did when i remembered it.

There is one part in Bible, which i remember how hard Jesus prayed.
look:

Luke 22:44

How much Jesus prayed, i cannot even imagine, although there it is written in Bible, a lot.

I´m still young in Christ, i hope we get many good answers and discussion here.
Pray for me, that i will remember to pray and have strenght to pray.
I will pray for you all.

God bless.

Janne

i always pray first thing in the morning, then thru out the day at different times the lord has me pray for people, some i know some i don't know, then every now and then he wakes me up at 3 or 3;30 to pray for people who are being attacked spiritually,as far as the length of time i pray it's usally around 5 or 10 minutes, except when i wake up at 3 ,it's always longer prayers, don't know if this pertains to anything but,i watched the exorcism of emily rose trail, and the priest said that at 3 in the morning is a high activity for demons that are trying to defame the trinity,it just seems strange that that is the time me and my daughter wake up to pray for people,i went to the website for the court transcripts but it was written in german ,so i'm not sure if it was added to the movie or if that is what he said

Hi Janne,

Thank you for pointing out to me that I have the same article on praying posted on my site twice. That was not intentional. I will correct it as soon as I can.

I was expecting a long page of many words that i cant even pronounce. Praise God , How simple and to the point that is , i really feel the Spirit of God in it.

There are plenty of ways to pray for hours.

First of all, remind yourself what prayer is. Prayer is communication with God, where you are giving your attention and time to him. You can pray by action and deed. Two examples I can think of attending a mass/high services or just taking communion in your home. Both of these are high forms of prayer just by doing them (assuming you are focusing on God during them). Another example of this is something like the doing the Way of the Cross. You are praying by doing and focusing on Jesus's suffering. Even if you don't actually do the physical motions associated with this, the focusing on Jesus's death and resurrection is a form of prayer.

Also, there are prayers which are based on reading the Bible. Reading the Bible can be a prayer in itself, but there are books of daily psalm prayers which are supposed to be the universal prayer of the universal church (i.e. many people all over the world are praying these same psalms and prayers with you). I use the books Christian Prayer and the Liturgy of the Hours for this, but there is a book from Phyllis Tickle called the Divine Hours which is another version of this. I haven't read that one, but I know that the other two can be a little hard to use without guidance. If you use these to the fullest, you will be praying at least an hour an day.

But, you can also just pray psalms and canticles straight out of the Bible, too. And reading out loud and meditating on the hidden and apparent meanings of passages shown to you by God is a form of prayer, too.

And of course, there is also using prayer beads and saying set prayers for as long as you feel comfortable and prayerful doing it. A good one given to the world by Jesus is the Divine Mercy chaplet. I believe a good explanation of what this is is given on the website divinemercysunday.com

The thing is, prayer must be your full attention and heart focused on God. It really doesn't matter how you do it, just as long as you do. When you focus your whole being on God, no matter what else you are doing, you are praying. Then it's easy to pray for hours.

Have you seen, that there is article "The Need For Prayer and Fasting" from Thomas S. Gibson, PropheticWord-Update page:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Prophetic ... message/84

I noticed this about week ago, but I bring about this information until now.
Look at the time when Thomas send this article, Thu Mar 23, 2006.
Latest posting in here ProphecyLink of this topic was Tue Mar 14, 2006, by Moonlight.
I don´t know, does Thomas read these messages in here ProphecyLink or has He signed up in here.
So timing of that article update is amazing, just when we have had praying in subject.
And there are some similarity, what we have writed and in Thomas S. Gibson´s article.
I feel God´s guidance in this, that praying is very important.

This article "The Need For Prayer and Fasting" is also in Thomas S. Gibson´s web page:

http://www.telusplanet.net/public/tsgibson/prayfast.pdf

I have couple questions:

Have you ever been in fast in Christ? (I hope you understand what I meant)
How do you feel when you pray, if it´s possible to describe?

I have only once been fasting. I tested could I fast 24 hours, to prove myself and God, that I can really fast if needed.
So I fasted allmost 24 hours, but I had to break fast, because I had a child as visiting. He wouldn´t understand, why I wont eat, so I then eated normally, couple hours before it would have been 24 hours fast.
This length of fast is nothing compared as long as others have been fasting, and as long Jesus Christ, our Lord did fast.
I feeled quite well during this little fast (only little dizzines and freezing), and what I realized, fast will show strenght of Spirit against flesh, to grow up spiritually and lot more.

Sometimes when I praise God in my prayer, i feel warm currents in my body. Should it be like this?

Your brother in Christ.

Janne
