Dear XXXX,

If you are sincerely asking, I will attempt to give you the answer that speaks to my heart about why prophecies are give by God to His true Prophets.

Psalm 118:21-23
"I will give you thanks, for you answered me;
you have become my salvation.
The stone the builders rejected
has become the capstone;
the LORD has done this,
and it is marvelous in our eyes."

1Cor 6:19-20

"Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body."

Eph. 2:19-22

"Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow citizens with God's people and members of God's household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit."

1 Cor 12:27-31

"Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it. And in the church God has appointed first of all apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then workers of miracles, also those having gifts of healing, those able to help others, those with gifts of administration, and those speaking in different kinds of tongues. Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles? Do all have gifts of healing? Do all speak in tongues? Do all interpret? But eagerly desire the greater gifts."

Eph 4: 11-15

"It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of men in their deceitful scheming. Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into him who is the Head, that is, Christ."

(These are all analogies to help our limited understanding to grasp the concept of being in Christ, One with Him)

To sum it all up: Because that is the way God has said we should seek to become aligned properly with Him: with Christ Jesus as the cornerstone, the apostles and prophets as the foundation stones and us as the rest of the building perfectly aligned, and kept perfectly aligned by the markers God has chosen, to keep us faithfully true to Christ as we develop into His Body, His Bride.

In Short – To Become A Holy Temple, Not an Unholy Temple, a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit and to prepare God's people for works of service, to the body of Christ, so that we may attain the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

By His Grace,
Yours in Christ Jesus,
Fred
