Some Thoughts in Prayer:
High Life:
Access to the Tree of Life: Through Faith (trust) and Obedience
Genesis 2:9
And out of the ground the LORD God made every tree grow that is
pleasant to the sight and good for food. The tree of life was also in the
midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
The First Command (Law):
Genesis 2:16-17
And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, “Of every tree of the
garden you may freely eat; but of the tree of the knowledge of good
and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.”
Low Life:
The first lie and the result of trusting in the lie.
Genesis 3:1
Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the
LORD God had made. And he said to the woman, “Has God indeed
said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?”
Genesis 3:4-5
Then the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. For God
knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will
be like God, knowing good and evil.”
Genesis 3:22-24
Then the LORD God said, “Behold, the man has become like one of Us, to
know good and evil. And now, lest he put out his hand and take also of
the tree of life, and eat, and live forever”— therefore the LORD God
sent him out of the garden of Eden to till the ground from which he was
taken.
So He drove out the man; and He placed cherubim at the east of the garden of Eden,
and a flaming sword which turned every way, to guard the way to the tree of life.
(Has Become Like: To Know Good and Evil, Not to Know God Himself
strikes me as important here.)
The First Prophecy:
Genesis 3:15
And I will put enmity Between you and the woman,
And between your seed and her Seed;
He shall bruise your head, And you shall bruise His heel.”
Low Life: (seed of the serpent or serpent seed ?)
Genesis 4:5
but He did not respect Cain and his offering. And Cain was very angry,
and his countenance fell.
Genesis 4:8
Now Cain talked with Abel his brother; and it came to pass, when
they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother and
killed him.
The blessings of High Life and the Curses of Low Life:
Genesis 6:5 (serpent seed?)
Then the LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth,
and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
Genesis 6:8 (seed of the woman? those who find grace?)
But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.
Genesis 7:5
And Noah did according to all that the LORD commanded him.
Genesis 7:23
So He destroyed all living things which were on the face of the ground:
both man and cattle, creeping thing and bird of the air. They were
destroyed from the earth. Only Noah and those who were with him in the
ark remained alive.
I post this as a place for beginning a search of the scriptures
to see How The Lord would Define High Life and Low Life!
