Awhile back, I had a dream about putting olive oil on the outside of my house on a front window so that demons couldn't get in. I thought it possibly might be the Lord telling me to annoint that place - but I wasn't sure and thought maybe it was just a weird dream. I didn't do anything.

A few months later, when problems with my finances and my husband were at a peak - I told my dad that I thought there were demons in my house while having a conversation with him on the phone. I don't recall why I blurted that out like that. My dad (who has struggled with Christianity) told me to annoint the outside of my house with oil. He has NEVER said anything like that to me, and it shocked me because I thought that he thought things like that were hokey. (I know they are not...)

I am thinking now that I need to do this - but I've never done it before and thought I would ask you all about it as well as go to prayer about it. The dream had me "smearing" olive oil just below my front window. The conversation with dad was to put olive oil around the perimeter of my house. I don't know how this is 'supposed' to be done. I have a generic brand of extra virgin olive oil at home - slightly used. Do I buy brand new? More expensive? Not extra virgin? Does it matter? Do I use all of it or some of it or what? Do this, or just cast the demons out in Christ's name? or both? Do I pray while pouring the oil?

Ray, Rev. Barr, or another - any God-instructed advice would be appreciated.

The oil that you have is all that you need, and not much of that, unless you desire to use all of it. Let the Lord be your guide to how much and where to place it as you start to anoint your house.

It does not have to be olive oil, although olive oil is what is used throughout the bible, and the oil which the Lord has commanded Raymond to use. If you need, you can use any pure cooking oil. For it is not the oil itself which makes the anointing, it is your use of it in the manner which the Lord leads you to use it, along with your prayers, which makes the anointing recognized by God.

I can tell you of a time when the Lord had me anoint the church that I was attending. One day at the start of a weekday service, the Lord impressed on me that I had to anoint the church. I was carrying a small "viseen" (spelling) eye drop bottle filled with olive oil that I used when anointing people. So you see there was not much there.

I started with one of the windows of the church, touching the window frame with a drop of oil on my finger, while praying in tongues, (just pray any way that you feel led to do) and moving all around the church, from window to window, and the doors, from room to room, constantly praying as I anointed every door and window in the church.

And when every door and window had been anointed, I stood in the middle of the church, The service was still going on, and then commanded every demon in the building to leave the church, in the Name of Jesus Christ. Then I sat down and took part in the rest of the service.

The result? We had a woman in the church, bless her soul, who was very nasty to the children when they would walk or run through the church, yelling at them very loudly, many times scaring the young children. And as I would teach the adult Sunday school class, she was constantly interrupting with corrections or other comments which caused the lessons to be disturbed. Well, in the next two weeks after the anointing, at every service, she was the sweetest lady that you could ever know. Never once yelling at the children who ran past her in the church, never once interrupting me as I taught the Sunday school class. The third week, she stopped coming to our church and started attending another church across the street, where on her second visit there she kicked the pastor in the shins. That demon that was controlling her couldn't come back into our church, for it was bared from doing so since the anointing of the church, so the demon got her out of there to another church where the demon could enter into the church with her.

I will say that there were many times when my wife and I would join her for a cup of coffee at her house, and she was always sweet there.

Then on the first Sunday service since the church was anointed, a man came to the door of the church during the service, The pastor saw him looking in the window of the door, and sent me out to talk to him. The man was agitated, belligerent, and said that he was looking for his wife, and gave a name. I told him that there was no one by that name in attendance there. But he insisted that his wife was in there and he wanted her out. I told him that he was welcome to come in and look, and I opened the door wide for him to enter. He took two steps up to the doorway as if to enter, and stopped virtually in mid stride as he reached the doorway, like he ran into a wall. Stopped dead in his tracks, turned, hung his head, and mumbled that she was not there and hurried away. He could not enter, for every demon was blocked from entering into that church for a very long time after that.

There was another woman who's house was being constantly being broken into, The entire church body went over there one Sunday right after service, and we all went around anointing the house, inside and out, and everything around it, then we went and anointed the fence and fence gate leading into the property, all in the Name of Jesus Christ. Her house was never broken into again. That has been over ten years now, and still the house has not again been broken into.

My Friend Cheryl, Have no fear that you will do it wrong, for you will never do it wrong when you pray as you anoint your house and your property. Just follow the leading of the Lord God Jesus Christ as you go about your house and home anointing where you feel led to anoint, In the way you feel led by the Lord, and when you have anointed your house and property, then stand in there and command every demon to leave in the Name of Jesus Christ, and to not return. They will leave, for you have the power as given to you by Jesus Christ to do this. Every Christian has the power, given to them by Jesus Christ to drive out demons, for the Bible says that the Christian Believer has the power to do so.
