It's Been A Long Time


It's been such a long time
Lord since we sit down and talked
It's no fault of yours
I was the one who balked

It seems time gets away
Never again for us to enjoy
Why do we waste the hours
When there is so much to employ

We look upon the troubled times
forgetting happiness we have in store
We let Satan beat us down
Working us over as in a war

Dear Lord give us a shield
Stand firmly by our side
We are tired of the battle
Lift us in our saddle so we can ride

We know you are with us
But forget to call upon you
Give us strenth, wisdom and knowledge
Help us, in you, to always stay true
