I just looked at the Time to Turn website: http://www.timetoturn.nl/new/english.php

It appears this "Western Bible" was published not in earnestness but as a criticism of the Prosperity Theory christians that are becoming so popular.

Re the Western Bible:
"Frank Mulder, chairman of Time to Turn, is surprised by the commotion. “Many Christians accept the Western lifestyle, including the degradation of creation and the injustice of our trade, and they only take the easy parts of the gospel. But it isn't until we publish this gospel with holes, that they get confused!” "

Re Time to Turn and what they believe in:
"The gap between the poor and the rich is increasing, plant and animal species are becoming extinct and the environment is dying as a result of our prosperity. Our way of living is at odds with the way God wants us to live and treat His creation. It’s time we opened our eyes to reality and change: It’s time to turn! Time to Turn is a movement of young people in the Netherlands who want to choose for a sustainable and just way of life, based on their faith in Jesus Christ. We want to provide each other with study material, campaigns and inspiration, and together speak for those who cannot speak for themselves. We are linked to Speak, an international student movement for prayer and campaigning."

05|01 The art of enjoying what you have
In this study we will focus on enjoying what we have. Enjoyment is a concept that most of you will be able to understand. But enjoying what you already have? Isn't it the extra - out of the ordinary - things we usually enjoy? There is a paradox in enjoying what you have. What does the Bible have to say about this? >>

21|02 Prayer & action for the poor - small group in Amsterdam
"Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy." (Proverbs 31:9). Do you have a concern for the poor either locally or globally? Do you want to learn more about issues of poverty and how we can respond as Christians to such challenges in biblical, prayerful and effective ways? Do you want to be part of a small group with this special focus - to meet with others who share this passion, to pray and to put things into action? >>

I do NOT think these guys are crass materialists, unlike, say, most televangelists.
