I really like a good discussion on Scriptures, so i hope we all can contribute to a common understanding as the Holy Spirit guide us..

I find this to be a very profound verse...

Romans 6:6-7

6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

7 For he that is dead is freed from sin.

From this verse there are a number of truths we can perceive;

a) our old man is crucified with him

b) the body of sin might be destroyed

c) henceforth we should not serve sin.

d) he that is dead is freed from sin.

Some questions can be raised from this verse; which i think could make us gain understanding from it.....

a) what or who is the old man?

b) body of sin- does this refers to our physical body or something else?

c) when is this body of sin destroyed?

d) is the body of sin and the old man refers to the same thing?

e) is there a significant in the word 'henceforth'?

f) "he that is dead is freed from sin"- does this means physical death?

I really appreciate any input from us all.... God bless..
