Hi Dstorm, happy new year!

Yes, i believe it will help you tremendously in your meditation. I would recommend 2 version- King James Version and Young's Literal Translation.

King James are very commendable for its reliance on the Majority Text.

Young's Literal Translation are very accurate in preserving the correct word tense and verbs, and its word structure follows the hebrew and greek's word by word arrangement.

Every word in Scripture must be meditated upon with the correct meaning. Example are, chastening in the Old Testament are very different from the New Testament meaning.

Strong's concordance reveals that chastening in the OT means severe punishment while in the New Testament chastening means 'child training in their mind and physical education', or from the Greek word 'paedia'. This is where we get the word 'paediatrician'.

Therefore, the OT chastening involves God's wrath but in the NT chastening involves the teaching of God's word for the renewing of the mind of new, born again 'children'.

There is a lot more but i hope this helps to open your mind.

God bless!!
