dear Dstorm,
There is fulness of joy in the Lord's presence.. and notice what is at the Lord's right hand-
Psalm 16:11 Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.
At this very moment, seated at the right hand of God the Father is our Lord Jesus, and He is the Lord's pleasure forevermore. This is Jesus, 'in whom I AM well pleased.' Amazing!
As you have believed and received Jesus, believe me; the Father's pleasure is dwelling in you. The fulness of joy dwells in you. The presence of the Lord is there in your heart.
Difference of the Lord's Presence between the Old Covenant and the New
Take note that under the Old Covenant the Lord's presence is an external situation. Under the Old Covenant the Lord speaks in an audible voice, because the Lord has not yet at that time poured out His spirit and and has not yet given man a new heart and a new spirit.
Because man under the old covenant are carnal and could not perceived the Lord's presence without the new heart and spirit, therefore it is the Lord's method to appear before man's physical senses.
Ezekiel prophesied of the new covenant where the Lord will give to those who receive His Son a new heart and a new spirit.
EZEK 36:26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.
Therefore, there is a great difference in manifestation of the Lord's presence between the Old Covenant and the New Covenant. In the new covenant, the moment you received Jesus His Son, you begin to have the Lord's presence within you.
JN 14:23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
This is amazing! Now there is no need to pray and ask God to go with you anywhere, because just by keeping His words in your heart (that is, to believe in His words) and love Him, His presence is always with you, even when you do not realised it.
Take note however, that under the Old Covenant there is fear in the Lord's presence. But as of today, because there is NO CONDEMNATION IN JESUS, we now do not and should not received the spirit of fear, but rather a spirit of 'power, love and of a sound mind', and also the spirit of sonship, the spirit of adoption, that we may call God as Abba, Father.
2TIM 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
ROM 8:15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
We must not mix the Old with the New, else the body is torn apart and the church would be spit out of Christ's mouth.
Luke 5:37 And no man putteth new wine into old bottles; else the new wine will burst the bottles, and be spilled, and the bottles shall perish.
38 But new wine must be put into new bottles; and both are preserved.
39 No man also having drunk old wine straightway desireth new: for he saith, The old is better.
REV 3:16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
Be blessed brother!
